Golf has been a passion for Jim Young from an early age. As Greer Golf’s general manager for over 2 years, he is excited to be creating growth in a game that has been such a driving force in his life. With Greer Golf now being directly involved in and affiliated with the City of Greer, watching the golf club transform into an even more beautiful course adds to that excitement. Especially having grown up in the area, attending Greer High School followed by the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg.

Jim has achieved several accomplishments in the game, including the MacGregor Cup Champion at Muirfield Village in Ohio and the PGA Players Champion at Mayacoo Lakes CC in Florida. He is also certified with the Professional Golfers Association of America. Prior to his time at Greer Golf, Jim acted as general manager for 12 years with two other clubs and spent 7 years as a golf professional at another.

Outside of the game, Jim loves snow skiing and fishing and spending time with his wife, Karen Huffman, and his two children, Nicholas Young, 37, and Natalie Young, 34.
